Videotel Digital, a manufacturer of industrial digital signage media players, industrial DVD players and interactive digital signage solutions, was recently recognized by Duke University Medical Center, a 1,000-bed facility, for its VP70 XD industrial digital signage media player, according to a press release. Used to auto-loop video, audio, images and photos, the VP70XD helps with the ongoing education of patients at the hospital.
"We are using the media player to play patient education for our patients thru our CATV system," said Denny Temple, senior electronics tech at Duke University Medical Center. "The players work great. We feed the information to a modulator for a TV channel so the patients can see it on the hospital TVs. We just connect it up and place what media we need on the card and place it on the TV channel we need for patient education. We have used your DVD players also, but this media player works very well for this application."
The VP70xd can auto loop a mix of file types while incorporating audio files as background sound, the release said. This eliminates the need for additional equipment such as an audio extractor. The media player also allows for various slideshow transitions that enable users to create effects that can keep an audience interested in the content being played.
