U.K.-based digital signage firm Amscreen recently announced that it has signed a new partnership agreement that will see DigiCom take ownership of the media sales and marketing activities over its 3,500-strong U.K. roadside and health care digital signage networks.

Amscreen's media sales and marketing team, based out of the company's London office, will transfer to DigiCom under the terms of the deal.

Amscreen will continue to provide the hardware and software solutions and will have full responsibility for the operation of the signage networks including monitoring, technical support and maintenance, according to the company website.

"This move will allow us to concentrate on our core competencies of hardware and software development whilst the media operation will benefit from Tom Goddard's considerable experience in the OOH environment," Amscreen CEO Simon Sugar said in the announcement. "We are delighted that we shall continue to work in a truly symbiotic fashion with Tom and believe that the media team will benefit significantly from his guidance and leadership"

According to the DigiCom website, the deal has Amscreen providing full technology and service support for the advertising screen networks, and existing agreements with various network partners, including brands such as Tesco and Shell, will be managed by DigiCom.

The deal follows the news earlier this year of a complete hardware refresh across the full 2,500-digital-roadside-screen network to the new "Mini-Digital 6 Sheet" format. The new screens provide more opportunities to integrate with other media channels and leverage real-time data to offer more relevant, targeted and measurable advertising activity, the company said. A full reappraisal of the 650-screen health care network is also planned.

"Digital out-of-home is undoubtedly one of the fastest growing and most exciting sectors to be in - the Amscreen Media network acquisition offers DigiCom a huge foot print across the U.K. and access to an excellent product powered by Amscreen," DigiCom Executive Chairman Tom Goddard said on the site. "We look forward to bringing a range of new opportunities and offerings to the market in the coming months."
