Chrome for signage support comes to embed signage

Digital signage provider embed signage has announced the launch of support for the Chrome OS platform.

Digital signage provider embed signage has announced the launch of support for the Chrome OS platform. "Following popular demand," the company said in its announcement, "we have focused on developing support for Chrome OS and Chrome-based signage devices to add to the growing list of embed signage-compatible platforms."

The company's list of currently supported platforms includes the following:

  • iOS (iOS6+);
  • Android (Jelly Bean 4.2+);
  • ONELAN Media Players (V9.3.7+);
  • Samsung Smart Signage Platform;
  • Windows (Windows 7+);
  • Mac OSX (10.7+); and
  • Chrome OS (V.32+).

Chrome OS for signage provides users a capable digital signage solution, with a secure, reliable architecture, the company said, which makes the platform well suited for budget digital signage deployments.

"With a range of Chrome OS devices now available, their impressive performance and our ever growing features, we believe Chrome OS will make a great solution for numerous digital signage applications," said Daniel Cruickshank, head of Chrome OS development at embed signage.

The company also said it offers a free 28-day trial to begin exploring the integration of Chrome OS and embed signage.
