Chive TV provider Atmosphere raises $10M in funding round

Atmosphere, a provider of content channels including Chive TV, recently raised $10 million in a Series A funding round. The company will use the funding to boost its B2B distribution as well as data and monetization, according to a press release.

Chive TV currently streams in more than 4,300 restaurants, bars, gyms and other areas. It provides entertaining content to visitors without relying on audio, according to the release.

"I have yet to meet someone who enjoys watching closed-captioning or talking heads at their favorite establishments," Charlie Plauche, partner, S2 Ventures, who will be joining the board as part of the financing, said in the press release. "Yet, that is the best option most businesses have to entertain patrons. That all changes with Atmosphere, who offers engaging content to viewers of all ages with no audio needed. It is a transformative media platform and advertisers are quickly figuring that out."
