Casino plugs into DVD and media players for digital signage

October 1, 2013

Foxwoods Resort and Casino in Mashantucket, Conn., recently converted digital media players throughout its property to Videotel's HD2600 industrial DVD players, according to an announcement from Videotel.

The high-definition industrial looping players are used in the resort's retail and promotional areas, looping guest information and entertainment throughout the hotel, gaming, shopping and entertainment destination.

Foxwoods additionally selected Videotel's VP70 HDMI 1080 media players. The VP70 is designed for high-definition looping content displayed on any monitor or screen, to deliver clear picture quality without degradation regardless of number of playbacks. The compact player connects to any NTSC, PAL or VGA monitor, amplified audio system or POP displays. Similarly, the HD2600 is a true commercial-grade looping DVD player designed to turn on, play automatically, repeat and auto loop without manual interaction, the company said.

"We have DVD players scattered throughout a massive property in retail and promotional areas. In the past, after a power interruption, a technician would have to physically walk to each location and power the units on," Gregory Houle, audio visual manager at Foxwoods Resort and Casino, said in the announcement. "And the units are not located in the most ideal locations. We purchased our first Videotel DVD player several years ago and have not touched it again. I have since replaced all the units with Videotel players."
