Digital signage systems provider Caltron has launched its new MP-1080P network high-definition digital signage player, aimed at applications that use video walls or require video synchronization, the company said in a recent announcement.

According to the announcement, the player has the capability to play all HD files and has a video synchronization option to place synched videos or images, as well as an online content management system, iCat5.

The MP-1080P can also function as a standalone player with text command files or files created through iCat5 and then saved onto the micro SD card or onto USB Flash drives. The player is designed to be capable of running 24/7 for any application, and it features a Wi-Fi option for wireless use.

With the digital signage market rapidly expanding, Caltron said its strategy is to be able to provide various types of media players to accommodate various digital signage applications, rather than trying to provide an all-in-one player that can meet the needs of every type of application. A media player with too many features, many of which may never be used, can get overwhelming and become too costly to fit into an end-user's budget, the company said. So instead, each of Caltron's players is designed to cover a specific range of media applications.
