BMW goes dynamic with BrightSign for internal communications

BrightSign has announced its partnership with BMW for internal communications, which plays into BMW's comprehensive initiatives for sustainability and carbon neutrality, according to a press release and case study from BrightSign.
"This exceptionally large deployment of BrightSign players has helped BMW Group transform the way it conveys practical information to its employees all over the world and it is continually expanding," Pierre Gillet, VP of International Sales at BrightSign, said in the case study. "This is a perfect example of how updated digital signage solutions can contribute to the overall smooth running of a large organization."
While it has leveraged BrightSign in offices and production locations for over a decade, BMW has recently embraced the power of dynamic content and has been switching its content over. Dynamic content includes intranet pages, access to internet services, RSS feeds and live quality indicator dashboards, which is shared globally across displays, including video walls powered by BrightSign XT1144 players and LCD displays with special configuration needs that require the HO523 OPS-compatible player.
Other initiatives include transitioning cafés to digital menus, motivational films and messaging and COVID-19 safety information, along with a room booking system that leverages interactive Bluefin screens in meeting rooms with built-in BrightSign HS123/Hs124 SoC players, which allow room availability and booking functions via RoomNext (QR codes are another mobile-interactive feature).
Software solutions include BrightAuthor for content creation and BrightWall for media management. The network is run from the BMW Group data center using BrightSign Network Enterprise Edition (BSNEE), with cybersecurity as a top priority via methods like 802.1X authentication.
