The ArcLight Cinemas movie chain and Cinema Scene Marketing today announced the planned installation and transformation of ArcLight's iconic "Story Board" at ArcLight Sherman Oaks (California) to digital content and display.

According to the announcement, the Story Board at ArcLight Sherman Oaks will be the largest display in a domestic cinema. The installation and launch will happen in early summer, with a planned roll out of the additional ArcLight locations by year end. In addition, ArcLight Cinemas is in the process of converting concession and in-theater signage with Cinema Scene.

Cinema Scene will provide the hardware, installation, content management and ongoing software service for the "Story Board," digital menu boards and auditorium signage, according to the announcement.

"I've enjoyed working with Joe Ross and Eric Tabak in creating a digital version of our beloved story board. We look forward to enhancing what we offer to our movie-goers through our current poster display, but, in a more vibrant and engaging way. We also want to be progressive and collaborative with our studio partners to encourage creativity. This massive digital platform takes ArcLight's vision to a whole new level and we are excited to bring our moviegoers face-to-face with this technology," ArcLight Cinemas EVP Gretchen McCourt said in the announcement.

Joe Ross, managing principal of Cinema Scene, said, "Cinema Scene is ecstatic about the opportunity to work with Gretchen McCourt, Joe Miraglia and the rest of the ArcLight team in bringing their historic Story Board movie poster concept in to the digital age at their Sherman Oaks, California, location. This massive video wall will enable studios to create and display multiple content looks, for a given theatrical release, and engage ArcLight moviegoers like never before. We are very pleased with the physical design of the end product and look forward to our content management system delivering fantastic graphic concepts on the grandest of scales. The ArcLight team has been great to work with and we look forward to broadening this concept to their other locations in the months ahead."
