Anheuser-Busch deploys 1,000 transparent digital signage coolers

Manufacturing Resources International has recently deployed 1,000 transparent LCD coolers for Anheuser Busch, the company announced.

The ThruVu Digital Cooler solution by MRI allows for full-HD resolution images, graphics and videos to be displayed on the front door assembly of the cooler, while simultaneously allowing clear viewing of the product within the cooler. A 55-inch transparent LCD replaces the traditional front cooler glass, and a customized electronics assembly provides the necessary technology backbone. Coolers have been deployed across the U.S. in convenience stores, major athletic stadiums and beverage/liquor stores, the company said.

The ThruVu product is a complete digital cooler solution that includes the freestanding cooler, LCD door assembly, media player and all required software integration, the company said. The design provides clear visual image quality on the LCD itself through a backlighting enhancement called TransVu. This feature provides 78-percent color saturation and allows for viewing the image on the screen when the door is both open and closed. The product also has met U.S. Department of Energy compliance standards for commercial coolers, the company said, and additions such as a 4G cellular modem allow for remote content uploading and back-end hardware monitoring.
