Exercise these fitness strategies for digital signage success

The key is to strengthen your work ethic, stay focused on why you started and simplify the steps you need to reach the goal, our digital signage blogger says.

Results. Everybody wants them, but not everyone has the initiative to reach them. They dream big but can't kick start themselves to work for them in the present. Putting in all that time and effort may seem impossible, but it's actually easier than you realize. The key is to strengthen your work ethic, stay focused on why you started and simplify the steps you need to reach the goal.

Take working out: You want to see the effects right away, but over-exercising when your body isn't used to it can result in cramps or injury. Not to mention, the experience could be enough to turn you off from working out altogether. Results take time; no one has ever shed 10 pounds from one run.

Simplify your workload

Best practices say to get into a weekly routine. Break down the workload into smaller timeframes so that the task's easier to accomplish. Also, plan out your workout routines ahead of time to give you the guidelines to keep going. This formula turns workout tasks into habits, and before you know it -- you've surpassed your goal. Woohoo!

The same process applies to goals outside of the gym. Want to improve your workplace communications? Use your digital signage deployment as the foundation to kick start a change in your organization. Digital content keeps audiences engaged while communicating important bits of information. All of this is done by transmitting digital content over strategically placed screens.

I know what you're thinking: More work. Actually, the process of creating these campaigns doesn't have to be overwhelming. If you take an hour at the beginning of every week to set up your digital signage campaigns, you can automate them to play throughout the week. This is a simple way to simplify the process while still seeing changes throughout your workplace environment.

No fast fixes

Simplifying the path toward your goal doesn't mean to take a shortcut. Sure, it's easier to take cheap alternatives like diet pills because they seem like a fast fix. But in reality, they waste your time by pushing you further away from your original expectations. You wouldn't rely on the ThighMaster or a Sauna Suit to tone your whole body. A healthy diet and consistent exercise are the tried-and-true ways to lose weight, and those results take time.

The same can be said about digital signage. Shortcuts, gimmicks and fast fixes will likely leave you further from your goal than when you started. On the other hand, digital signage solutions that offer training, support and a variety of integrations and applications are the equivalent of a five-star gym membership. The price might not be dirt cheap, but if it simplifies your weekly workload it might just be worth it!

When exercising, 20 to 30 minutes, four to five times a week, can make a world of difference. If you buckle down, implement the right tools and stick to your plan, you can see results in a month. Similarly, spending an hour a week setting up digital signage campaigns will take your communications to the next level. You'll be able to achieve goals that boost internal communications, launch customer social campaigns or even promote company-wide fundraisers.

Once you dedicate yourself to an exercise routine or workplace transformation, you'll start to see real results, instead of quick "fixes." Be the person that takes the initiative with digital signage to reach what no one else is willing to achieve. Have the ultimate goal to transform what needs to be changed. Don't set goals by comparing yourself to others. Set your goals based upon yourself and your desire to achieve more. Whether it be at home, the gym or work, make yourself your own motivator!
