COVID-19 has created many challenges for retailers, restaurants and every other type of business. For digital signage users specifically, many have had to change their signage strategies to clearly communicate social distancing guidelines, sanitation rules and mask policies.
Digital signage vendors have had to adjust their offerings as well, to help meet these new COVID-19 needs. Digital Signage Today spoke with Florent Hediard, global marketing manager at Navori Labs to learn how Navori is handling customers and their needs during the pandemic. .
Q. What are your customers looking for in digital signage during COVID-19?
A. End-user customers want to leverage of their existing digital signage solution to face COVID-19, and avoid additional investments. For example, many Navori clients are international organizations with a need for harmonious and synchronized corporate messages in the face of the pandemic. These messages offer safety instructions for staff and visitors. Digital signage software must be able to handle these through centralized desktop management to maximize efficiency across the network. At the same time, large and small clients need to also enforce local occupancy rules, which means that the solution must be flexible for different situations.
Q.What are the ways you are meeting your customers' needs during this time?
A. Navori Labs has developed an add-on module to its QL digital signage software, based on its Computer Vision technology, that monitors traffic flow in public spaces. This module called QL Access Control, is often based on existing infrastructure: the QL DSS, plus a display and an IP camera. This makes it very simple to set up and quick to deploy.
Q.What are some of your top COVID-19 solutions?
A. Our bundle outlined above allows users to count, screen, guide and entertain visitors. The counting and screening is highly accurate, as QL Access Control detects face masks and can monitor multiple entry points simultaneously. QL AC also provides waiting time durations prior to entry if the facility is at full capacity. With QL Access Control, customers can set adjustable occupancy rules and trigger customized information. While people wait to enter, QL Access Control can display entertaining and engaging content, such as live social media feeds, audio, RSS/XML data and calendar events – with no programming required.
Q. How can digital signage encourage social distancing?
A.Social-distancing messages can be displayed regularly throughout the day according to building occupancy. These messages can be enhanced with video and audio messages, or simply pushed as text information to all displays on the network.
