X2O Media, a Barco company, has announced it will showcase enterprise visual communications solutions at the Gartner Digital Workplace Summit 2015, which takes place May 18-20 in Orlando, Florida. Aimed at highlighting the versatility of the X2O platform, the company will demonstrate applications built to support today's mobile and technology-savvy workforce, according to the announcement.

The X2O platform is designed to deliver real-time visual communications to the right audience, at the right time, on the right device, to transform enterprises into digital workplaces by providing employees with tools to create dynamic visual channels. Similar to miniature TV networks, channel-based communications allow organizations to turn data linked to internal and external sources such as SharePoint, SAP and social media into content-led messaging that is designed to be interactive, targeted and engaging.

"Our solutions deliver new and more effective ways to work, a concept that we believe is perfectly aligned with the theme of Gartner's Digital Workplace Summit,"  X2O Media President David Wilkins said in the announcement. "With the X2O platform, organizations can leverage interactive displays, video walls, desktops, IP phones, tablets and smartphones in order to make information more relevant to the way today's employees communicate and collaborate. This creates a connected workforce that is better equipped to make business decisions and be more productive within the digital workplace."

The X2O platform is designed to be easy to use with drag-and-drop tools and scheduling options that streamline the creation and management of data-driven, media-rich channels. Intended to enhance teamwork, visual channels also improve how employees share and collaborate on tasks by leveraging a shared virtual workspace on interactive touchscreens, tablets, smartphones and desktops, the company said.

The X2O enterprise visual communications platform delivers the following solutions:

  • A Connected Workplace where users communicate in real time via X2O channels displayed throughout the enterprise on displays, video walls, mobile devices and more.
  • A Connected Workspace designed for multiple users, where teams collaborate in a shared virtual workspace either online or in huddle spaces — enabling document and desktop sharing, video conversations and polling participation, among other features.
  • A Connected Desktop for users to view and interact with X2O channels directly from their desktop — improving visual communications within today's digital enterprise. Specific use cases include company news channels, integrating business information dashboards into workflows, and receiving live alerts at workstations.
  • A Connected Workforce allowing organizations to harness the power of the X2O platform to share real-time content with remote workers across campuses and around the globe. This means companies can maintain up-to-date communications across entire workforces, regardless of location, the company said.

The Gartner Digital Workplace Summit provides insights for driving new and more effective ways of working, helps organizations better engage with employees, and helps employees engage better with one another, the announcement said.
