Wegener Corp., which provides equipment for television, audio and data distribution networks worldwide, today announced the receipt of an order for iPump 562 enterprise media players totaling $1.1 million. The units will be deployed in an international, satellite-enabled digital signage project.
Wegener's digital signage solution provides simultaneous support of multiple clients, marketing zones and applications and includes new digital sign creation for custom sign layouts and sequences of video, audio, graphics, html and text content, the company says. It can be used to display local content at one or 1,000-plus screens utilizing a control system proven to support millions of ad insertions a month.
"Adding digital signage to our portfolio of media distribution solutions expands our clients' ability to deliver targeted messages," Wegener president and CEO Troy Woodbury said. "Coupled with Compel 2 network control, clients can easily manage a variety of communication tools to multiple audiences in hundreds of locations."
The Wegener iPump 562 media players provide a flexible messaging environment with features supporting live HD video, background music and digital signage. The new Wegener Compel 2 network control system is used to remotely manage iPump 562 media players. Compel 2 distributes audio/visual commands, manages schedules, receiver databases and distribution over satellite and Internet paths. The new Web browser interface streamlines support for multiple networks with enhanced permission-based access and segregation of network data.
The order was booked during Wegener's current first fiscal quarter and will ship during the company's first and second quarters of 2011.
