Digital signage solution provider Visix Inc. will present its array of digital communications products for higher education at this year's EDUCAUSE annual conference this week in Orlando, Florida, according to a company announcement.

With an increased footprint at the show, the company will highlight the single and combined advantages of their products for colleges and universities focusing on communications, outreach and engagement across campuses. On display will be the latest version of AxisTV digital signage software, the company's new MeetingMinder room sign line and education-specific creative designs.

"This isn't about pushing technology — we're championing better campus communications," Visix President and CEO Sean Matthews said in the announcement. "Digital signage has grown to be more than just electronic bulletin boards. Students and staff expect to be engaged, to interact with, and participate in, campus communications. We want to provide the tools and expertise to help schools increase their outreach and improve the overall campus experience."

AxisTV v.8.4 Digital Signage Software

AxisTV is Visix's flagship product used on more than 800 campuses — an enterprise content management system for messaging and alerts across networks to screens, video walls, desktops, smartphones and more. The new AxisTV Design tool for v.8.4 provides a design environment for crafting messages and templates on the desktop. It has a new user interface modeled after Microsoft Office with guides, rulers and drag-and-drop widgets. AxisTV also supports localized or system-wide Common Alerting Protocol alerts.

MeetingMinder Room Signs

Visix has overhauled its room sign offering with three new models that can work singly or combined to deliver schedules and digital signage messages. Touch and Connect models offer 10- and 15-inch designs with large screen surfaces, Power-over-Ethernet, green/red availability lights on the sides, and easy mounting out of the box, the company said. MeetingMinder room signs support data from Exchange, EMS, Google calendars and other popular scheduling applications.

Creative Content

Visix's creative services team will present examples of higher education content designs including digital signage layouts with hot spots for launching interactive kiosks, integration of TransLoc real-time shuttle mapping, social media boards with Twitter and Instagram feeds, and menu board designs. They'll also feature a variety of interactive wayfinding designs with directory and event mapping, ADA controls and SMS directions.
