Visionary Solutions intros PackeTV Mobile streaming media delivery solution for digital signage

Visionary Solutions Inc. has announced that the company's new PackeTV Mobile streaming media delivery solution is now shipping. PackeTV Mobile is intended for a broad range of markets, such as professional A/V, telecommunications, broadcast, corporate, government, education and houses of worship, the company said.

PackeTV Mobile simplifies the delivery of live and file-based video content, enabling content administrators to deliver high-quality IP video to any connected device, including mobile phones, tablets and set-top boxes in an enterprise setting, the company said.

"PackeTV Mobile transforms the HLS streaming landscape by removing control from costly content delivery network providers and putting it into the hands of content administrators," said Mike Piper, vice president of sales and marketing, Visionary Solutions. "Relying on a standard, Web-based infrastructure, PackeTV Mobile eliminates the need for a content delivery network in most cases, and is designed to deliver the desired video quality within the constraints of the network's available bandwidth, reducing a user's capital and operational expenses."

PackeTV Mobile is built on a server-based design that can be deployed cost-effectively on any public or private network where HTTP access is allowed and scaled to provide streaming video content to an unlimited number of users, the company said. Using a Web-based GUI, content administrators can deliver streaming media content to hundreds of clients from a single preconfigured server. Alternatively, PackeTV Mobile can be deployed as a scalable onsite or cloud-hosted solution, capable of reaching an unlimited number of clients via corporate or public networks, the company said.
