Media Vision and Protective Enclosures Company will be providing 240 The Display Shield weatherproof digital signage enclosures for the University of Alabama to be placed throughout the university's Bryant-Denny Stadium, according to an announcement from PEC.
The Display Shield models DS4050H and DS5060H will encase back-to-back suspended monitors and will cover all digital menu boards and digital signage displays in the facility, according to the announcement.
Owners' representatives and AV consultants Anthony James Partners specified LG Electronics USA displays and The Display Shield for the job, the announcement said.
The enclosure's ultra-clear Lexan cover/shield is manufactured using ¼-inch thick shatter-resistant polycarbonate, the same material used to produce bulletproof glass, for durability and screen protection, the company said. The Display Shield also is actively ventilated with a thermostatically controlled 36CFM 115V filtered fan and two vents located on the upper side corners. The Display Shield is water-resistant and will protect signage against rain and concession stand wash-downs, a plus for an outdoor football stadium, according to PEC.
