Ultraleap intros touchless screen solution

October 13, 2020

Ultraleap, a mid-air haptics technology company, has introduced its TouchFree software, which can make interactive screens touchless. The software uses a camera module and hand-tracking software to enable touchless gesture control, according to a press release.

TouchFree detects a user's hand and converts it to an on-screen cursor to enable users to interact with the display or kiosk.

"Conventional touchscreens have worked well over the years because of their convenience, but people want to be able to interact with them in ways they perceive to be safe. Our recent research showed that just 50% of consumers were likely to use touchscreens again," Steve Cliffe, CEO at Ultraleap, said in the release. "TouchFree is the ideal application to retrofit existing touchscreen-based kiosks for businesses looking to encourage users back, maximize user interaction and ensure customers feel safe."
