UK's Eclipse upgrades its cloud-based signage software

June 24, 2014

U.K. based digital signage company Eclipse Digital Media has announced the release of the latest version of its cloud-based digital signage platform, embed signage.

The latest version of embed software provides users the ability to push any resolution and orientation content to Android, iOS, ONELAN, Windows and Mac devices, anywhere in the world with an Internet connection, the company said. It also is designed to give users the tools to create both basic and complex touch digital signage content without advanced technical knowledge, Ecipse said.

The new release also unveils a newer, simpler user interface with an abundance of core digital signage features, such as device management, media animations and content scheduling. According to the announcement, embed already has been well received by clients and end-users such as PayPoint, SuChef, Applause Store and South Downs National Park.

"We had an idea of being able to publish content to any device, at any resolution, anywhere in the world ... and this is fast turning into a reality," Eclipse Digital Media Director Colin Thody said in the announcement. "We are already working on the development of further device support and the introduction of some very exciting product features to help give our clients even more creative flexibility for their digital signage."

Eclipse's embed is a software-as-a-service product, and end-users can take advantage of a 28-day free trial, 5GB free storage space and all the features of the platform, including being able to build interactive touch content in just a few clicks, the company said. Pricing is based per registered device, and there is a range of recommended commercial-grade devices that Eclipse Digital Media have tried and tested for users to connect to embed. To sign up to explore the new digital signage software, users can visit embedsignage.com/signup.

"Another primary goal for embed was to make it extremely user friendly. We want people that have never used digital signage before to easily start and quickly deliver content to their displays, be it a device they already own or a new one. We've undertaken extensive market research and usability testing which has enabled us to tailor embed perfectly to match our clients' needs," Thody said. "Many businesses bought into digital signage some years ago but are restricted to specific manufacturer hardware or software. With embed we’ve tried to fully embrace the BYOD concept for digital signage allowing businesses to blend their old hardware with new pieces, all managed from one central cloud-based platform. Having this variety and flexibility of hardware choice provides some very attractive entry points for digital signage users."
