Time Inc. has partnered with Ziosk, a restaurant ordering kiosk company, to syndicate People, Sports Illustrated and Entertainment Weekly on the Ziosk tablets. Restaurant patrons will be able to access these magazines directly from the Ziosk kiosks, according to a press release.
The Ziosk Media Network will display a channel for each Time brand on the kiosks, so customers can read free content from the publications. Chilli's and Red Robin Gourmet Burgers and Brews will be the first restaurants to integrate the content.
Ziosk currently has more than 170,000 tablets in the restaurant industry, reaching 50 million people. Time plans to expand its reach in the market through this partnership. The two companies will also collaborate on advertising and cross-platform promotions, according to the release.
"We are delighted to be working with Ziosk to expand the reach of the best-in-class content from People, SI and EW to millions of consumers," Joseph LaFalce, executive director of business development at Time, said in the release. "This deal underscores our plan to expand beyond our core properties to leverage the diverse ecosystem of third-party digital platforms, emerging media channels and device-driven networks to reach consumers everywhere and to derive maximum value and growth for our business."
