The Marlin Company, a workplace digital signage provider, has acquired a patent for its enterprise content distribution. The U.S. Patent No. 9,959,522 B2 allows companies to create an organizational structure that determines content access by users or groups, according to a press release.
Administrators can manage both the distribution of content and users' permissions. They can also push content to a single display or all displays on the enterprise network.
"Digital signage is a popular channel for reaching employees because it's visual. It works best when the content is targeted and therefore relevant to the employees viewing the screens. For example, while HQ may send out a global message on healthcare benefits, a regional office may post their KPIs or new employee announcements. Our enterprise feature makes it easy for companies to accomplish this," Frank Kenna III, CEO of Marlin, said in the release.
