Sunglass Hut recently partnered with Moving Tactics to deploy digital signage at its V&A Waterfront store in Cape Town, South Africa. Moving Tactics crafted an outdoor LED wall, two 75-inch in-store screens and an interactive touch table for customers, according to a press release.
Sunglass Hut chose digital signage for this location to make a stronger brand statement and to engage with customers.
"The touch-based screens are running fanless industrial grade computers with Linux and Datapost software and the advertising screens are run via system-on-chip software," Kevin Bierman, Moving Tactics head of digital signage, said in the release. "The LED outdoor video wall is 4 millimeters, [and] consists of pixel pitch high-resolution screens designed to resist water and salt incursion. There are also two Linux computers for redundancy purposes with a switching unit for zero downtime."
The company deployed one of the 75-inch displays in a custom housing and the other behind the sales counter, according to the release.
