STRATACACHE has announced the launch of its new, energy-efficient media player, the SPECTRA S-200 Series 2.
The newest edition to STRATACACHE's line of SPECTRA media players, the S-200 Series 2 is a small, power-efficient Intel Atom-based media player that utilizes 8-10 watts of power, according to a company statement. Businesses looking to green their digital signage networks can anticipate an 80 percent reduction in energy consumption when compared to other media devices, the company claims.
By transitioning to the new S-200 Series 2, one STRATACACHE retail customer with an 11,000-plus display digital signage network experienced energy savings of more than $4 million annually, the company said.
"Most of our customers find that the SPECTRA S-200 Series 2 typically pays for itself in a few weeks in operational cost savings and improved sales of featured products," STRATACACHE CEO Chris Riegel said in the announcement.
Within retail environments, the ROI for the S-200 Series 2 is directed by reduced energy costs, reduced print material costs, increased product sales and enhanced operational efficiencies.
Running on STRATACACHE's ActiVia for Media software, the S-200 Series 2 has an intelligent display management feature that allows the connected digital display to power down during retail "off hours" then turning on 15 minutes prior to store opening. The control feature allows digital displays to drastically reduce their energy consumption, in addition to the direct energy consumption savings on the media player.
