Signagelive, a global supplier of cloud-based digital signage technology, is demonstrating its full support for Samsung's Smart Signage platform by presenting a system-on-chip version of its technology at the IFA Berlin consumer electronics show, starting today and running through Sept. 10.
Signagelive will be displaying its portfolio of plug-and-play digital signage applications in the Samsung booth, including its "Food Service Manager," a smart digital menu board that allows quick-service restaurants to streamline their menu board management processes, the company said. The FSM is designed to give restaurant owners and associated franchisees the ability to amend pricing and create special meal deals at the push of a button, as well as to display nutritional information, so they are compliant with current standards or guidelines set by the authorities on nutrition labeling.
Over the last 18 months, Signagelive said, it has made its digital signage technology widely accessible to different market sectors by enhancing its support capabilities for a range of non-PC devices and developing a SoC version of its core software. That makes its platforms not dependent on onsite media players to run smart signage applications because its offering is cloud-based, requiring only an Internet connection, the company said.
And as a result of its development and support for Samsung SSP, Signagelive said, all Samsung displays, irrespective of size, are fully compatible with Signagelive software, which is available on a license-per-display basis. Signagelive says its SoC software version replicates the functionality of its core PC display software, giving digital signage technology users access to Windows-grade capabilities on non-PC devices. It supports multiple content formats including static images, streaming video, IPTV, Web pages and RSS feeds and integrates with QR code technology and social media widgets. Digital signage content can be managed by a range of devices, including smartphones and tablets.
"Smart Signage technology has the potential to revolutionize digital signage because onsite media players are no longer needed, resulting in huge savings for end-users," Signagelive CEO Jason Cremins said in the announcement. "So long as they have power and an Internet connection they can use our cloud-based software and monitoring tools to run dynamic digital signage applications at the push of a button and increase overall revenue as a result."
