Sharp Electronic Corp., a manufacturer of digital signage and multi-function printers and a U.S. based subsidiary of Japan's Sharp Corp., has announced Doug Albregts will replace Toshiyuki Osawa as its new president and CEO. Albregts had served as president of Sharp Imaging and Information Company of America, a subsidiary that handled Sharp's business to business operations, according to a press release.
Albregts has extensive experience in executive positions in the digital signage industry. He served as vice president of the enterprise business division for Samsung Electronics of America and senior vice president of sales, marketing and business development at NEC.
"The appointment of Doug Albregts to this important position is a testament to the success of the local leadership of the business solutions team at SEC over the past few years," said Tai Jeng Wu, president and CEO of Japan's Sharp Corp., in the release. "With the many great opportunities in the B2B space, SEC will focus on growing and diversifying its business technology in the Americas, working in synergy with Hon Hai's vast experience in this sector."
