Scala updates digital signage platform

Scala has updated its Scala Enteprise platform to version 12.00. This update supports Linux media players and includes more than 185 other upgrades, according to a press release.

Key features of the version include:

• Linux Playback engine for X86 and ARM processors.
• Supports Scala Designer Cloud.
• Enhanced dashboard view and other features for Content Manager.
• Python 3 support.
• Improved interface for 17 supported languages.

"Scala has held a long-term, strong position in delivering digital display messaging. The introduction of Scala Enterprise 12 allows our global clients to extend their delivery of digital experiences to embedded ARM devices such as kiosks, tablets and shelf edge displays," Joe Sullivan, COO, Scala, said in the release. "This opens up a wide variety of new opportunities to attract and engage audiences for even deeper, personalized consumer activation."
