'Research Triangle' hotel adds digital signage flight board

The Hilton Raleigh-Durham Airport at Research Triangle Park hotel has implemented the EventBoard digital signage display from Flyte Systems, accoridng to a company announcement. EventBoard is a digital flat panel display that shows property events and wayfinding with FlyteBoard real-time airline flight information, plus weather, news, and notices or promotions, enhanced with attractive property graphics.

Flyte Systems is a provider of airport travel information displays and digital signage content for the hospitality industry, digital signage, convention centers and related businesses. Driftwood Hospitality Management LLC, operates the Hilton Raleigh-Durham Airport at RTP, which is in the midst of an $8.5 million renovation to convert it from a full-service Hilton to a full-service DoubleTree.

"Our guests are experienced business travelers with Research Triangle Park companies. Time is valuable to them and they appreciate our EventBoard's real-time airline flight information to keep them on schedule," said Brian K. Morgan, general manager of The Hilton Raleigh-Durham Airport. "EventBoard displays airline times from nearby Raleigh-Durham International Airport with property events and weather. Guests quickly check schedules and get meeting information in one place to save time."

Morgan said he has used a FlyteBoard at a property near San Francisco International Airport, which led him to want it at the Driftwood Hilton Raleigh-Durham Airport hotel "because it is so valuable to guests."

"Our front desk team tells guests where the EventBoard is and what it shows. It brings people together to talk about flights or where they live and creates a sense of community," Morgan said. "Guests often ask for an earlier airport shuttle if they see their flight is moved up. This is an opportunity for us to exceed guest service expectations. EventBoard is also part of our property's sales tours because it shows our attention to guest needs."
