Renewed Vision upgrades media server for A/V

May 17, 2018

Renewed Vision has launched its ProVideoPlayer 3.1 media server. Customers will be able to control the server with external devices such as lighting consoles and custom automation systems, according to a press release.

Renewed Vision has integrated its HTTP control server to allow users to send command line instructions or HTTP requests to manage information. Users can retrieve data about individual layers such as whether it is hidden or muted, and they can send command controls to change playlists or trigger specific events.

Renewed Vision built the device for broadcasts, corporate events, concerts and other A/V scenarios. The device also offers a low-latency video playout engine, direct SDI outputs and interactive screen control functionality.

"While most users operate PVP through its intuitive graphical interface, communication between devices is increasingly critical in today's sophisticated live event environments and fixed installations," Brad Weston, president, Renewed Vision, said in the release. "Creating our own protocol has given PVP 3.1 the ability to communicate with more devices with a lot more flexibility than if we only used, for example, DMX or MIDI."
