Proto tapped for intercontinental hologram presentations, announces mobile solution

The AFP Crecer Innovation Week, an annual financial conference in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, leveraged Proto hologram communication technology to beam live speakers from Mexico, Argentina, Colombia, Spain and the United States, according to a press release.

Featuring attendees from AFP Crecer (a pension fund administrator) along with representatives of Seguros Crecer and Banesco Seguros, the conference's theme was "Reimagining the Future," and the event marked what Proto describes as the first instance of a global event using holoportation (its hologram communication technology) to connect speakers and listeners across multiple continents at the same event in real-time 3D.

"Truly speaking to our theme about the future, our teams in Santo Domingo were able to converse with these great minds just as if they were in the same room with us," Carlos Barranco, director of innovation at AFP Crecer, said in the release. "Holoportation via Proto gave us exactly what we needed — meaningful exchanges of ideas and inspiration without boundaries."

Keynote speakers presenting via hologram included:

• Jorge Lerdo de Tejada, futurist, who beamed in from Mexico to speak on "The Power of the Future."
• Alejandro Melamed, business expert, who beamed in from Argentina to present on "The Future of Work."
• Vicky Ricuarte, educational entrepreneur, beaming in from Colombia to speak on "The Future of Education."
• Eswar Prasad, economist, beaming in from the United States to speak on the "Future of Money."
• Juan Jose Garcia Ripoll, research scientist, beaming in from Spain to present on "The Quantum Future."

"When we bring people together through holoportation, we know they're going to connect in real ways," David Nussbaum, CEO at Proto Inc., said in the release. "We are especially proud to have worked with APF Crecer on their ambitious event this week not just because it beamed people from three continents and five countries into the Proto Epic, but also because the Innovation Week theme of Reimagining the Future is exactly what we work to do everyday."

Proto also announced the launch of holoportation via mobile device, according to a separate press release, aiming to empower users to communicate via 3D beaming using only a mobile phone. A video demonstration of the mobile solution is available below.
