Pro-Motion Technology Group becomes US distributor for iDisplay

December 21, 2011

The use of small screen displays in retail settings is growing in popularity, according to Pro-Motion Technology Group, a single-source provider of audio, video and digital solutions for the retail, foodservice and hospitality industries.  In order to offer retailers more options for compact digital signage, the company announced it has become the sole U.S. distributor for London-based iDisplay, a line of low-cost compact digital solutions.

Among the iDisplay line of products and services are:

  • iShelf: Bbattery-operated, shelf display featuring  a flashing LED-activation button that plays movies or JPEG slideshows with audio.
  • iView Classic: a 10.2-inch digital solution equipped with a WiFi system that automatically connects to a web-based, easy –to-use, remote content management system.
  • iView Touch: A compact solution available in 7 inch and 10.2 inch displays with four touch buttons. The iTouch is designed to engage customers and can play up to four choices of customer-selected JPEG slideshows or movies
  • The iDisplay Open Frame: A digital solution also available in two sizes, 7 inch and 10.2 inch, and designed to fit into any POS display. The iDisplay can be equipped with up to six buttons and can even work with a motion sensor to activate content.

"Compact digital signage offers the distinct advantage of being able to deliver an engaging message, targeted specifically to a certain audience and presented to them at a crucial moment: the point-of-sale,” said Lynn Matson the founder and CEO of Pro-Motion Technology Group, in a statement. Matson is also the author of "See It, Hear It, Experience It…Buy It!"

Matson said since compact digital signage comes with a lower price tag, it quickly pays for itself if you follow a few basic rules such as making sure the equipment is robust, placing the signs in optimum locations and ensuring that your service provider is reliable.

"The lower cost also allows you to place more screens in more locations. Digital signage also has many hidden benefits that are often overlooked such as reducing training costs," he said. "Retailers can eliminate the expense of training employees to answer questions about products. Plus, they can make sure that the message is delivered — in exactly the right way, at the right time — for an affordable price.”
