PPDS, a display solutions provider, has delivered more than 1,000 of its Phillips Android-powered digital signage displays at all 700 Kwik Trip convenience stores in the Midwest. With these displays, Kwik Trip can display its hot food menu at targeted times during the day, according to a press release.
PPDS built the displays with an Android-backed system-on-chip processing system, which helped Kwik Trip save $1.9 million on media players, The displays come with Digital Touch Systems content management software, so Kwik Trip can centrally manage all displays from its corporate headquarters.
"The decision to go with PPDS came down to their system-on-chip functionality, which led to significant cost savings over others. Also, a great (3-year) warranty that helped us feel comfortable about the investment," Mark Meisner, director of marketing and advertising, Kwik Trip, said in the release.
