Denver-based Ping HD recently announced the release of version 2.0 of its EngagePHD Web-based digital signage content management platform.
Key to version 2.0 is the addition of the new Dashboard view intended to strengthen the network monitoring capability of end-users' digital signage networks. The Dashboard view pulls back near real-time screenshots from users' LG webOS displays, Samsung SSP displays, and Windows or Android Players, along with key display/player information such as serial number, temperature, etc., which enables users to see at a glance exactly what content is showing on any screen and removes any guesswork, the company said.
Kevin Goldsmith, the company's director of digital media operations, said in the announcement, "As we push the boundaries of what can be achieved with SoC-based displays from LG and Samsung, we've proven that you do not need external media players and have reduced potential support issues by up to 90 percent. The Dashboard combined with automated email alerts provides the confidence our customers need to ensure that their digital signage networks are doing exactly what they should be doing."
An API is provided as part of this release to allow the Dashboard information to be used in third-party system management platforms, the company said.
