Panasonic has recently acquired hardware and software developer MagicInk Interactive, according to a Panasonic press release. MagicInk provides its integration service for digital placed based media.
MagicInk is able to utilize these services to provide digital signage targeted towards particular audiences, such as hotel lobbies and retaillers.
"After reviewing the potential acquisitions in this area, we believe that MagicInk is well positioned to help us significantly expand our digital signage business. This is just one in a series of planned initiatives," Jim Doyle, president of Panasonic Enterprise Solutions Company, said in a statement. "MagicInk is a leader in digital place-based solutions for high-end retail, hospitality and corporate clients. It brings multiple paths for continued profitable growth."
MagicInk has provided its digital place-based installations for 150 locations since its founding in 2008.
