Pala Casino teams up with Red Dot Digital Media and BrightSign for digital signage upgrade

Pala Casino Resort and Spa, based in Pala, California, recently teamed up with Red Dot Digital Media to upgrade its video digital signage network. Red Dot used BrightSign's media players to deliver content from 17 custom designed video channels, according to a press release.

Red Dot Digital media initially deployed BrightSign's XD1132 and 4K1142 in Pala Casino's DPU Room. The 4K1142 pulls the content and outputs it over HDMI to the XD1132, which then distributes to the players in the displays.

The company next deployed BrightSign's XT1142 players at the channel level, with one of them delivering content to 75 LS423 displays embedded in displays throughout the casino. Red Dot Media and BrightSign developed customized code to convert the content from 17 video channels to stream to the 75 displays. The company also provided Creston Fusion software to allow the Pale Casino to preload and manage content.

"The change most noticeable to casino guests is that we've upgraded our content from 480p to 1080p, but the most impressive achievement of this project is what’s happening behind the scenes. We have a remarkably complex array of video channels, and now we're able to distribute that content with ease — thanks in large part to our partners at Red Dot and BrightSign," Alex Ponomarev, media services manager, Pala Casino, said in the release.
