The Outdoor Advertising Association of America is attempting to battle back against negative labels in American politics with a digital campaign that pushes for the most important label: voter. The OAAA plans to launch the campaign in major metro areas to push voter registration, according to a press release.
The campaign will also attempt to break down stereotypes by showing different types of voters such as the "gun-loving, fascism-hating immigrant voter" and the "activist, idealist grandma." The campaign will push voters to put these ideas into action through voting.
The OAAA will deploy digital advertisements in Times Square and OOH advertisements in buses, subways, billboards and cars in New York City. The ads will drive users to VoteToCount.com, where users can create their own "labels" with an interactive label creator.
"These ads hold a mirror up to the American people," Pete VonDerLinn, executive creative director at Partners + Napier said in the release. "They’re an unedited reflection of the labels we’re free to express, and we hear in our democracy, every day. Voting enables that freedom."
