Ottawa hotel creates 'virtual playground' with EyeClick digital signage tech

April 16, 2013

Youngsters (and the young at heart) can have a blast at Ottawa's Brookstreet Hotel, through interactive digital signage technology from EyeClick. The company is supporting a new "virtual playground" game for children and other guests, according to the SignMedia Canada.

The EyePlay platform is installed in the hotel's recently added games room, and is activated through MotionAware technology when visitors move across a projected display zone. That turns the floor into a play space for up to 15 participants, ages two and older. Games are downloaded to a console, with colorful graphics projected onto the floor and walls, accompanied by sound.

The hotel installed EyeClick's gold package, which includes 30 games, ranging from sports such as soccer and hockey to musical games (piano, drums, disco) to educational fare such as solar system and capitals.

"EyePlay has been a huge success in our new games room," Brookstreet marketing manager Meike Buechler told the website. "We see not only little kids playing for hours, but also grown-ups from neighboring businesses coming to the hotel for lunch, and then stopping at the zone for a quick and fun game of soccer or hockey."
