Orlando International Airport (MCO) has opened Terminal C with a heavy focus on digital signage, installed in partnership with Synect, according to a press release.

The 1.8 million-square-foot terminal features pDOOH content that changes throughout the day and includes local Central Florida multimedia, such as bespoke video captured by Synect for the project to meet the goals of the "The Orlando Experience," a PR program of the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority designed to promote the natural beauty of the region to travelers. Content includes live action video from Lake Eola, Bok Tower Gardens and other tourist attractions, and videos shift to keep pace with the real-world time of day. The multimedia campaign blends with standard fare FIDS content like departure-arrival data along with interactive content like QR codes and concessions information.

On the software side, the Synect Passenger360 CMS manages system across 872 connected screens throughout the facility and integrates with the airport operations center for real time data updates. Automation aims to free up airport staff, while manual overrides are possible when needed.

"From the beginning, GOAA and the entire Terminal C team were striving to build the best facility and deliver the best passenger experience possible," Brian Engle, director of customer experience for GOAA, said in the release. "Through our collaboration with Synect, we are giving passengers all the information they need, when and where they need it, to make their journey as smooth, engaging and delightful as possible."

"The Orlando International Airport's Terminal C is a flawless example of how visual communication can transform airport communication and the passenger journey," Yahav Ran, CEO at Synect, said in the release. "We are grateful to the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority for their ongoing commitment to innovation along with their purposeful use of content and technology to delight passengers while helping them navigate the airport environment."
