Orangetheory Fitness, a fitness center chain, is partnering with Imagination Park Technologies Inc. to deliver an augmented reality experience to the Wonder Woman Run Series in Fargo, North Dakota.
Customers can point phones at signage and insignias to trigger training tips, videos, advertisements and 3-D holograms for the event, according to a press release.
The Wonder Woman Run Series, named after the DC Comics super hero, challenges participants to run for five or 10 kilometers or a half marathon. Orangetheory Fitness chose Imagination Park Technologies to raise awareness for the event.
"Most business wouldn't consider running an augmented reality campaign as they expect it to be too technical, complex and highly expensive; but that isn't the case when using Imagination Park's XenoHolographic augmented reality platform," Alen Paul Silverrstieen, CEO of Imagination Park, said in the release. "Whether you are a fitness franchise owner or even a mom and pop retail store, business owners can create highly sophisticated and customized AR campaigns with absolutely no technical ability and for far less than they would imagine."
