NEXCOM recently announced the release of its NDiS 126, which it said is "a compact, yet powerful, 1080P media player geared towards budget conscious users."
The new digital signage player is based on the new Intel Atom processor D2700 and is equipped with an enhanced graphics engine and video decoder, making it powerful enough to support Full HD 1080P contents on dual independent displays.
NEXCOM will showcase NDiS 126 at Integrated Systems Europe 2012 in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, from Jan. 31 to Feb. 2.
Equipped with a multitude of I/O options, the NDiS 126 is aimed at connecting to the Internet and streaming various TV content. In addition, the player's fanless mechanical design makes it extremely durable and practical use in extreme environments where dust or grime is present, the company said.
With the embedded Atom processor D2700 with Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 3650, the NDiS 126 media player with HD decoder supports video formats including MPEG2, H.264 and VC-1 with resolution up to Full HD 1080P. The player also features low energy usage, NEXCOM said.
The digital signage player can support two separate displays. Besides the default HDMI port, an additional HDMI or VGA output is also available. It can be configured with a HDMI, or two HDMI, or a HDMI and a VGA, allowing systems integrators to serve users with different preferences.
In addition to its graphics performance, the NDiS 126 also features extendibility, accommodating one Mini PCIe slot, a SIM card holder, two GbE LAN ports and six USB ports. Users can leverage the options to acquire real-time status, perform immediate update, download the latest contents to the player remotely, and provide undefined contents such as TV programs.
The compact NDiS 126 is encased in an aluminum chassis measuring 185mm (7.3 inches) in width, 147mm (5.8 inches) in depth and 48.4mm (1.9 inches) in height. The case also dissipates heat more efficiently than SECC housing. Moreover, to prevent the storage unit from premature failure, NDiS 126 has 2.5-inch HDD securely mounted on brackets.
