NEXCOM has expanded its digital signage player NDiS series with the Android-based NDiS B114 designed to help brick-and-mortar stores convert shoppers into buyers, the company announced recently. Equipped with multimedia capability and network connectivity, the company is calling the NDiS B114 a feature-lite but capable Android digital signage player that can amplify marketing messages while also simplifying content and system management for retailers.

The NDiS B114 runs Android version 4.3 and comes with a quad-core Freescale i.MX 6Quad application processor, and is equipped for Flash, full-HD videos and 2D/3D graphics. The player also supports online content and system updates and has a GbE LAN connector and a half-size mini-PCIe socket for 3G or Wi-Fi expansion.

The NDiS B114 also supports display output of up to 1920x1200 resolution with one HDMI 1.4 connector and has 8GB onboard storage. The Android digital signage player supports SD expansion of up to 32GB and has one SATA connector for use with HDD/SSD. NEXCOM has also released a Linux version of NDiS B114 running Ubuntu 12.04.
