North American electronics e-tailer Newegg today announced the addition of its Digital Signage Category, a catch-all destination for the latest digital signage equipment, including monitors, kiosks, commercial displays, media players and related components.

Newegg's Digital Signage Category brings together display products from brands such as LG Electronics, NEC Display Solutions, Planar Systems, Samsung Electronics and ViewSonic; media players from brands such as BrightSign, Shuttle Computer, Gefen and Black Box; kiosk brands such as Astar and Kontech; and Intel digital signage software in an online storefront designed to help customers find and purchase the best equipment for their installations, the company said.

According to Newegg, the declining cost and complexity of digital signage equipment is driving mass adoption in a broad swath of industries, including bars, restaurants, retail establishments, airports and theaters. That explosive growth has brought a rise in demand from customers for an easier way to purchase equipment, which the new Digital Signage Category meets by offering more than 250 digital signage products and accessories from 22 manufacturers at launch, the company said. In the coming months, Newegg will expand the category to include even more products and vendors.

"For years our customers have come to Newegg to purchase digital signage players, displays, software and other accessories,"Newegg North America CMO Soren Mills said in the announcement. "Putting these products together in their own category makes it easier for our customers to find the best deals and equipment."

The launch of Newegg’s Digital Signage Category coincides with the addition of several new digital signage vendors, including DT Research, DynaScan, GeoVision, IAdea, Keystone Enterprise Services and TouchSystems, the announcement said.
