New Android digital signage solution available from Dynamax

July 11, 2013

Dynamax Technologies has released a new Android digital signage solution that combines an Android media playback device and Dynamax's own digital signage software. According to the company's announcement, the bundle delivers the same functionality in scheduling and media playback as traditional devices, but with greater cost efficiency.

"This is by far the easiest and most cost-effective digital signage solution we have offered our clients so far, a hassle-free system that suits the needs of any user and further simplifies the set-up process," said Howard Smith, Dynamax's founding director. "When developing our Android player, we have thought inside the box — a box defined by our customers’ requirements. Believing in the future of simple digital signage, the decision to invest in this technology was only natural for us.’’

This is the first hardware solution for Dynamax since it launched the SaaS product digitalsignage.NET three years ago, the company said. It augments existing support for other media playback devices such as SMIL and Windows PC.

The digitalsignage.net Android solution is based on a 1.6 GHz dual-core ARM A9 processor with a quad-core MALI GPU, and with both Wi-Fi and LAN Internet connectivity. It supports the same video and image formats as the other playback devices, allowing users to save money on a project without compromising on quality, the company said.

Additionally, the new Dynamax solution provides the same functionality as PC media playback devices at a considerably lower cost.

Dynamax said its Android product will be available soon, as well as a new version of its digitalsignage.NET, which will be sold separately through selected partners.
