Networld Media Group acquires Vending Times, names Elliot Maras editor

Networld Media Group, the parent company of Digital Signage Today and sister sites, has acquired The Vending Times, a media publisher in the self-service vending space.

Elliot Maras, editor of Kiosk Marketplace, will serve as editor of Vending Times, according to a press release.

The Vending Times features more than 15,000 subscribers and covers topics such as foodservice, mobile food and beverage, bulk confection and novelty vending.

"Vending Times is a perfect addition to our website portfolio as we continue to strengthen our tech, retail, and restaurant groups," Tom Harper, Networld Media Group CEO, said in the release. "Not only does vending intersect with all the verticals we already cover, it's an important part of today's customer experience trend — a key theme across all of our sites and events."

Maras has significant experience in the field as editor of Kiosk Marketplace and from his former role as editor of Automatic Merchandiser Magazine from 1993 to 2012.

"I am delighted to be back in the saddle in an industry I have known and loved for many years," Maras said in the release. "There are many synergies between the vending and kiosk industries. Both industries are expanding rapidly because of new technology."
