Netgear intros modular managed switch for A/V display solutions

Netgear has launched its M4300-96X Stackable 10G and 40G Modular Managed Switch. This switch helps streamline A/V over IP solutions, replacing 48 by 48 circuit breakers, according to a press release.

The device uses the programming interface from the Software Defined Video over Ethernet Alliance to ensure it can integrate easily with a open platform without complex coding. It also comes with IGP/multicast and a pre-configured 10 Gigabytes per second infrastructure, according to the release. Other features include:

  • 12 empty slots in 2RU for port expansion cards.
  • Two slots for redundant power supply units.
  • IGMP Snooping, Fast Leave and Querier.
  • Front-to-back cooling.
  • Web browser based GUI for management.

"The zero-touch configuration eliminates the need for switch programming, making SDVoE installations plug and play," said Williams Clark, executive vice president of content management and processing for Christie, in the release. "The card-frame design and 8-port modules allow the M4300-96X to be cost effective for modest -sized systems, while also providing the ability to scale the system larger to support any combination of SDVoE transmitters and receivers. SDVoE systems with symmetric input-output configurations are supported such as 48x48, and asymmetric solutions such as 24x72 can also be prepared."
