NEC updates large screen displays with wake-on HDMI

June 30, 2017

NEC Display Solutions of America has updated its E-Series large screen displays with wake-on-HDMI. The display can now sense when an HDMI signal is present and automatically power on to that signal, according to a press release.

NEC has also updated the displays with a built-in digital/analog ATSC/NTSC tuner for coaxial connections and has provided text-to-speech functionality for closed captioning.

"Our updated E Series displays improve on an already great product by including advanced, easy-to-use features at a low total cost of ownership," Kevin Christopherson, director of product marketing at NEC Display, said in the release. "This gives customers with smaller budgets an easy way to get commercial-grade digital signage to advance their businesses and improve their branding."
