NEC intros filter free LCD laser projectors

NEC Display Solutions of America has introduced the NP-PA653UL and NP-PA803UL LCD laser projectors. The filter free projectors are designed to offer 6,500 and 8,000 lumens of brightness respectively, according to a press release.

The projectors are built to provide 20,000 hours of performance. They are also designed with NEC's Scaler Chip to manage a 4K/60p input. Other features of the projectors include:

• 8,000:1 contrast ratio;
• Dual HDMI, DisplayPort with HDCP and HDBaseT with HDCP;
• 360-degree positions support;
• Interchangeable lenses; and
• Image noise reduction, scaling and 10-bit color processing.

"Built on innovation, NEC Display is always exploring ways to reduce downtime and elevate the user experience," Richard McPherson, senior product manager of projectors at NEC Display, said in the release. "With no lamps or maintenance required, users get to enjoy the PA Series' consistent color and uniform brightness while focusing their attention on advancing creative, educational and business objectives."

The projectors will be available for purchase in April.
