MediaStar rebrands to MediaStar Systems

MediaStar, a provider of digital signage and IPTV, has rebranded itself to MediaStar Systems. This announcement coincides with several new product updates for its media players and content management platforms, according to a press release.

"Unveiling our new name and new website after 35 years as Cabletime is very exciting," Shaun Oxenham, MediaStar Systems CEO, said in the release. "Our customers have been referring to us as MediaStar for years, so we wanted to make it official."

In addition to the name change, the company unveiled multiple upgrades to products including:

• 782-model Media Players now support for HDCP Pro and Pro Idiom and a new Chromium browser.
• Media Port provides lower latency with support for H265 and more secure content streams with HDCP 2.2 Pro.
• Media Manager 10.5 CMS now supports Chinese, Japanese, Arabic, Russia and all Unicode character sets.
• Encoder updates including HDP 2.2 Pro stream protection and a 4K encoder with 12 GB SDI and HDMI inputs.
