MediaSignage Inc., provider of entry-level and enterprise digital signage, has released expanded features for the company's open-source digital signage product, the SignageStudio Lite, according to a company announcement.
The SignageStudio Lite, released only a few months ago, is the company's latest foray into open-source HTML5 digital signage. The latest updates include feature enhancements similar to its SignageStudio Pro, but with the ease-of-use of SignageStudio Lite, the company said.
In addition to general bug fixes, the latest updates to the system include an improved scheduling tool for content delivery including an enhanced drag-and-drop solution for resources and scheduling timelines, YouTube and Twitter integration, content resource previewing, improved layout and enhancement on mobile devices, live presentation preview, full localization in 40-plus languages, improved scene performance for handling large numbers of components, white-label control for enterprise users, NPM package manager integration and quick deployment with built-in node.js server powered by Express.js.
In addition, the SignageStudio Lite now ships as part of the pre-installed bundle with the mediaSERVER 4.20 release, giving customers more flexibility and options when designing and deploying content to their private digital signage networks. The company has also updated all API docs relative to the use of the SignageStudio Lite. Since the system is open source, the MediaSignage team has also made all source code available on Github.
"The latest feature updates are fairly expansive," CEO Sean Levy said in the announcement. "We've been very busy working to provide enhanced features to our simple-to-use lite version of the SignageStudio Pro … As demand for our free solution grew, so did the features and complexity. We've developed the HTML5 SignageStudio Lite to ensure we're not leaving our most dedicated customers with something so complex it's difficult to use."
In addition to the SignageStudio Lite release, the company has also been expanding its footprint in the enterprise digital signage arena with the mediaHYBRID solution, which includes a dedicated server hosted at Amazon Web Services and includes all the features and options of SignageStudio Pro and Lite.
