Media Sign Pro working on Mac-based digital signage software version 4.0

April 5, 2011

Digital signage software publisher Media Sign Pro today announced that it will be releasing a major upgrade, version 4.0, to their Mac-based digital signage software this spring.

"Version 4.0 will be a great leap for Media Sign Pro," Media Sign Pro President Chris Lee said in the announcement. "We have been working very closely with our partners and clients to identify key features that would make our software even more usable and flexible than it is now. They have spoken, we have listened, and now we will deliver."

A key feature of version 4.0 will be social-networking integration that will create a means to have audiences communicate with the digital sign, according to the Irvine, Calif.-based firm. Another major feature will be a template library that allows a user to choose from professionally-designed templates as a starting point for their sign.

The most powerful new feature, however, may be one allowing users to make certain updates to the sign remotely via the Internet with just a few clicks and without disrupting the sign, the company said.

"Users want to have the freedom to update their signs from anywhere in the world or to give specific zone access to members of their team," Lee said. "With previous versions this was indeed a pain-point. Version 4.0 will resolve this and at the same time add the ability to update sections of the sign while restricting access to others."

As of now, there is no specific release date for the update; however, Lee said in the announcement that 4.0 is in the final stages of testing and may be released as early as next month.
