Matrox showcasing digital signage wares at int'l Scala event in Amsterdam

September 9, 2013

Matrox Graphics Inc. will showcase its latest digital signage solutions, including Matrox Maevex video-over-IP encoders/decoders and Matrox Mura MPX video wall controller boards, at the 2013 International Scala Conference in Amsterdam later this month, according to an announcement from Matrox.

Matrox Maevex 5100 Series video-over-IP encoders/decoders are designed for distributing dynamic digital signage in retail, restaurant, transportation, banking, health care and other environments, the company said. They extend full HD-quality 1080p60 video and audio over standard IP networks, with bandwidth consumption so low even existing IT networks can be used, according to Matroc. The Maevex Encoder captures video and audio from Scala-based players and extends the signals to one or more Maevex Decoders via standard networking equipment, and Matrox PowerStream software is used to remotely discover, manage and adjust the Maevex network and lets administrators define multiple stream parameters and balance network bandwidth consumption.

Matrox Mura MPX Series output/input video wall controller boards let integrators create cost-effective, attention-grabbing digital signage, the company said. They feature highly flexible, universal input channel support for both digital and analog (DVI, RGB/VGA, Component, S-Video and Composite) video signals. Compatible Mura MPX analog video capture cards provide additional NTSC/PAL/SECAM input channel support, and the Mura MPX-SDI board features two 3G SDI video inputs and two DVI outputs. Matrox MuraControl video wall management software for Windows or iPad enables control over Mura MPX-powered digital signage content and layouts.
