Marriott Hotels crafts living hotel with digital signage

October 14, 2016

LG Electronics USA Inc. teamed up with Marriott Hotels to deliver a more immersive guest experience at the Charlotte Marriott City Center in Charlotte, North Carolina. LG Electronics deployed digital signage and home appliance technologies to upgrade the hotel experience as part of the hotel’s "M Beta" project, according to a press release.

The company upgraded the hotel lobby with a 55-inch LED screen that provides wayfinding to guests. Once guests enter their rooms, they can also watch TV on an LG 55-inch LED TV, according to the press release. Guests can also visit the M Club Lounge to use LG Studio kitchen appliances or watch TV on a OLED screen.

LG Electronics also gave the hotel’s fitness room a makeover with 3x3 video walls made of 47-inch LG Panels with an LG sound bar. Guests can use the video wall to access workout videos on Zumba, Beachbody and others.

"LG focused its hospitality technologies to replicate the digitally-driven experience guests are accustomed to at home," Michael Kosla, vice president of hospitality for LG Electronics USA Business Solutions said in the release. "LG's robust portfolio of products incorporated into this exciting new Marriott property – from ultra-slim video walls in the fitness center to smart LED TVs in each hotel room, and even a full LG kitchen – create an interactive, highly-personalized hotel experience that feels like home away from home."
